Music Tier 3 — Family Indexes
This is the Tier 3 (T3) Map of Content (MOC) for the Music library. T3 notes are deep, catalog-style references — long enumerations of genres, instruments, tools, and ecosystems that don’t fit naturally into a Tier 2 family page but are load-bearing reference material a working agent needs to look up.
T3 sits between T2 (family overview) and T4 (deep single-topic dives). T3 notes are “catalogs”: breadth-over-depth references intended to be the canonical entry point when an agent needs to know “what are all the X” rather than “how does one specific X work”.
Published T3 catalogs
- genre-tree-and-instrument-catalog — Genre lineage trees (Western classical medieval → contemporary; jazz Dixieland → modern; rock blues → indie; hip-hop Bronx → trap; electronic musique concrète → modern; country traditional → crossover; world music families) and the full Hornbostel-Sachs instrument catalog (idiophones, membranophones, chordophones, aerophones, electrophones, voice) with concrete makes + models throughout. ~600 lines.
