Connector Families — Family Index
Electrical connectors mediate every signal and power path that crosses a board, harness, panel, or chassis boundary. The family chosen sets mating cycles, contact resistance, current rating, bandwidth, sealing class, vibration tolerance, and unit cost more than any other harness decision. This index maps the dominant families by application, pitch, contact density, and environment, with real product lines and selection heuristics for each.
